Product overview

Compact drying for sand and mineral materials

The three-cylinder rotary dryer is designed for continuous drying of granular materials within a defined moisture and particle-size range. Its compact multi-cylinder construction accommodates the drying process within a short outer shell. Applications include sand for dry-mix mortar, foundry sand and blast-furnace slag, with equipment selection based on the material and required moisture removal.

01 / Compact ConstructionMultiple cylinders within a short outer shell

The three-cylinder arrangement provides a compact drying assembly. Listed outer shell lengths range from 5.4 to 8 m, allowing the equipment layout to be assessed against available installation space.

02 / Heat UtilizationMulti-cylinder arrangement for thermal efficiency

The cylinder arrangement is designed to improve heat utilization during drying. Actual energy demand depends on feed moisture, required output and operating conditions.

03 / Material HandlingContinuous drying of suitable granular feeds

Drum rotation and internal lifting components expose material to the drying gas. Feed suitability is assessed from particle size, flow characteristics and behavior at the proposed drying temperature.

04 / Thermal ConfigurationMaterial selection for the inlet section

Heat-resistant steel can be specified for the inlet section and lifting plates where the thermal duty requires it. The operating temperature is confirmed with the material and equipment configuration.

Technical Configuration

Selection data, presented clearly.

Three specifications are listed below, with separate capacities for sand and slag. These ratings correspond to the published moisture conditions and must be confirmed for the actual feed. Motor ratings cover the dryer drive, not the complete drying system.

Applications

Application contexts.

Suitable for granular materials requiring controlled moisture reduction before mixing or further processing.

  • 01Dry-Mix Mortar SandDrying sand before dry-mix mortar preparation, with final moisture selected to meet the downstream formulation requirements.
  • 02Foundry SandMoisture reduction in suitable foundry sand feeds, with the drying conditions matched to sand properties and subsequent processing.
  • 03Blast-Furnace SlagDrying slag for building-material preparation, using slag-specific capacity and moisture conditions for equipment selection.
  • 04Other Process MaterialsDrying suitable small granular clay and fly ash feeds, subject to assessment of sticking tendency, particle behavior and thermal suitability.
